ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHTS
- 2009 API (Academic Performance Index): 823, with all subgroups over 800. We are proud to report an increase of 27 points.
- Magnet Center of Merit
- Title 1 Academic Achievement Award School, 2008, California Department of Education
- State-of-the-art iMAC wireless computer lab. In addition to offering all students course time in our iMAC lab, our Math Facts Club uses this lab during recess.
- Our “Wonder of Reading” Library remains open full time with our excellent full-time librarian, Mrs. Diane Greenseid. As a published children’s book illustrator and advocate for children’s literature, Mrs. Greenseid inspires our children to develop a life-long love of reading.

FINE & PERFORMING ARTS HIGHLIGHTS
Loyola Village is dedicated to the arts! Both our traditional and Magnet Center campuses introduce students to an extensive arts curriculum. All students are invited to participate in our orchestra, guitar ensemble and African Drum and Dance Ensemble. And, all of our students perform in our December Holiday celebration and in our culminating productions during the spring.
- As a participant in the LAUSD Arts Program School, all classes receive 6-week units in Dance, Drama and Visual Arts taught by District arts specialists
- African Drum and Dance Ensemble 65 member student orchestra: grades 3, 4 and 5
- Guitar lessons: grade 3
- Guitar Recess Club: grades 3, 4 and 5
- Dolphin Café is a wonderful environment that allows students, teachers, parents and community members to perform on stage. The Dolphin Café meets monthly on Friday evenings.
- Performing Arts: Every year our students participate in a large-scale musical and drama production. This year we will be producing two productions – Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland.
