Dear Parents/Guardians,
With the issuance of the first pupil progress report on December 9th, we mark the first third of this school year. Your child is now accustomed to our school’s expectations and programs and to his/her classroom lesson routines and procedures. From Back-to-School Night, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing school-home communications, you have received information on grade level standards, instructional methods, and curriculum materials. Small group instruction is underway in reading and language development, and students are extending their understanding of math concepts through problem solving lessons. The fine and performing arts curriculum is also in full swing, and the upcoming “Holiday Happiness” performances will provide an opportunity for your child to shine! Following the administration of the first quarter periodic assessments, your child’s teacher will analyze the results to inform her/his next instructional steps in planning for the second quarter.
As we continue to work together, your praise of your son’s/daughter’s effort will encourage him/her to persevere with challenging tasks. Please continue to monitor homework each evening for quality as well as completion. Effort is the key to their academic and social success!
